what do i do with my portraits?

THINK ART, NOT Pictures

Does it seem normal that when you buy art, you intend to keep it on a hard-drive for when you wish to view it? If the answer is NO, then should you not think of your portraits in the same way? When you choose art for the visual interest in your home it makes sense that they be hung on a wall, or for books, left out for display on a coffee table.

When you find the right photographer for you, and you begin to plan where in your home you would like your portraits, its good to know what options you have available to you. Your photographer, aside from taking stunning images of you, should be able to help you with printing, framing and display options that will work best in your home.

Some things to consider

Your Style- That seems the most important because it has to match your vibe, enhance the surroundings, and look very ‘at home’ hung there. The frame choice is a decor choice.

Location- Where in the home is it going? What else is around that interacts with the artworks? Who sees it?

Available Space- Do you have a large or medium area available? What are the dimensions? Will portrait or landscape work best?

Arrangements- Is it one or two large images or is it a collage of many smaller ones? Are there illustrations or sayings mixed in? Do you need help with layout options?

How we can help

When we first meet for a consultation we ask questions about not only how you wish to be photographed, but how you intend to use the artwork. We then plan a shoot with this in mind.

During the ordering session we go into detail of what frames are best suited for your images and available space, and also show examples of arrangements for your images if in a collage.

We try to keep things simple here and not overwhelming, its hard enough choosing what photos you want enlarged and framed, so we have pre selected a few frames that will be elegant and timeless in their style.

If you wanted Art Books for your coffee table, then we provide curation and design of your session to make for a beautifully printed visual story.

the final touch

So you now have your framed images and layouts selected, but you still have to hang them, and if it’s a collage there are multiple frames to measure for. not to worry. Our studio offers installation of your framed images as a service should you require it. All you have to do is simply watch your walls transform into the gallery like display you envisioned when you reached out to your photographer.
