The Creative Burst
The Creative Burst you get when an idea suddenly springs on you brings with it the energy needed to begin the journey that will bring your idea to fruition.
As it was beginning to snow one morning I got to thinking, what’s a fun thing to do in the winter that you can’t do any other time of the year? Catch snowflakes on your tongue while you lay in the snow with your arms and legs out... A-ha! The concept of a ‘Snow Angel’ immediately evolved into a photoshoot idea, I now had a new project.
Starting new Projects
I LOVE starting new projects, creating Mood Boards, researching inspiring imagery, drawing out concepts, arranging for costumes and props, and building the sets and accessories needed for the final image. Then, on the day of the shoot when all the elements of your vision are finally drawn together, it’s as exciting as waking up on Christmas morning and running to the tree to open presents.
With the excitement still fuelling you, the work becomes just as much fun as putting your ideas together. The whole process is so inspirational and up-lifting; you get to be creative every step of the way because you are always problem solving and searching for the best ways to do everything. Work is not really work when your having fun.
The Snow Angel
Below is one of the final images from the concept that started with me lying in the snow and catching snowflakes on my tongue. I hope you all take some time out of your busy schedules to reach out and open up the creative part of your brain that allows inspiration in, because creativity and play, will enhance your paid work and all areas of your life.
